Samsung Galaxy Note II Review

Slash Gear recently surprised me with their stunning review of Samsung Galaxy Note II, a pen-based 5.5-inch smartphone. See the following details for more:

Samsung’s new Galaxy Note II arrives with some heritage to explain it, though a 5.5-inch smartphone can still take some explaining. After its first-gen predecessor blustered its way into a new segment – known by some and loathed by others as “phablets” – the new model tweaks the formulae some, boosting performance, smoothing the design, and polishing the digital pen elements that help set it apart from the smartphone crowd. So, if the original Galaxy Note eventually answered the question “will it sell?” can the Samsung Galaxy Note II convince us that it’s a worthwhile upgrade? Read on for the full SlashGear review.

Android Update for Sony P Tablet is Coming

Sony recently announce the availability of Android 4.0 updates for their P Tablet dual-screen slate machine this March 24, 2012. If you are one of this tablet user, you will probably choose to experience the newest features that will rock your device.

Sony who is struggling to attract consumers to their expensive Android tablet offering has confirmed an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Sony Tablet P.

The update due this week for the oddball dual screen tablet, will not fix Sony’s sales problems with reviewers around the world panning the device because of its shape, price and size.

Sony released a press release in Japan on Friday stating that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the dual-screen Sony Tablet P will appear on May 24th. Although it is not guaranteed to arrive in Australia at the same time. An update for the equally unpopular Sony Tablet S is set to be rolled-out simultaneously worldwide.

Facebook Tycoon Tied a Knot to Long Time Girlfriend

The young billionaire and co-founder of Facebook tied a knot last Saturday, May 19, 2012 in a private ceremony at his home in Palo Alto, California. Here’s a report coming from Forbes:

My friend James thinks he has the Zuckerberg wedding figured out. James has a distaste for marriage. Long story. He is deeply in love with his girlfriend, though, and making her happy is one of his primary goals. They are both geezers like me and have been married before.  So I would just look at it that Zuckerberg is a kid and hasn’t been married, so of course he is going to marry his girlfriend. James pointed out to me, though, that the kids nowadays are more into hooking up and cohabiting.  James talks to me a lot, because I am one of the few people that can understand him.  He has a peculiar mixture of idealism and cynicism and like me has seen too many tax returns, which can warp ones thinking.

TMZ also brought out stuff coming from the venue of the wedding.

Mark Zuckerberg might have more money than the average man, but he has the same musical tastes as everyone else because TMZ has learned his wedding was bumping some serious Michael Jackson tracks all night long.

A neighbor of the Facebook CEO tells TMZ. They could hear the music coming from the wedding the entire time (as evidenced by our video where you can hear Billie Joe Armstrong singing from the street).

Reuters is not too late to confirmed the story that surprised the followers of Mark in Facebook.

Zuckerberg wed his longtime girlfriend, Priscilla Chan, on Saturday in the backyard of their modest home in Palo Alto, California, with fewer than 100 people in attendance, a Facebook Inc spokesperson authorized to speak on behalf of the couple said.

Handful of photos taken from the house of Mark is now available on the line but expect more as the man uploaded his wedding photo album in his Facebook account.

Discounts in iPhone 4S Rounded Up!

Best Buy, RadioShack, and even Target is now dropping the price of iPhone 4S. Here’s a story coming from Slash Gear:

Despite the method Apple used for massive iPhone sales at the launch of the iPhone 4S this past year, it appears now that the iPhone 4 will be exiting the show before the iPhone 5 hits shelves later this year. Several companies including Target and RadioShack have initiated a $49.99 sale price for the iPhone 4 with Best Buy joining this party just this week. Searches across several online sources (including Best Buy online) have yielded shows of low or no stock on the phone, this very possibly pointing toward the stock change that will certainly occur once the next-generation iPhone 5 hits shelves.

LG Optimus Got a 4X HD Treatment

LG’s latest 4.7-inch wunderphone may not have penned in an official release this side of the Atlantic, but that doesn’t mean the Feds aren’t putting it through its paces. A global version of the LG Optimus 4X HD made its way through the FCC test labs recently, revealing a quad-band GSM/EDGE radio with 3G support over AT&T’s 1900 / 850 bands. In other words, feel free to import an unlocked slab when they hit Europe next month.

PlayStation Vita Sales Continue to Rock the Market!

PlayStation Vita sales have topped 1.8 million worldwide as of March 2012, Sony’s Kaz Hirai said during the company’s latest earnings call.

"The last year, [we sold] 1.8 million units for US, Japan, Asia and Europe. And as a starting phase, I think it was a good start," he said.

Hirai stressed that software will lie at the heart of the handheld’s future success.

"A game platform, like Vita – the software is the key to success, how good the software is. We have to reinforce the software area in order to improve the business, that is the basic line," said Hirai.

"And vis a vis Vita, at this moment, there is no decline or lack of motivation as a portable platform. And also, in order to connect with the Network, this is a very important product indeed for us, and therefore we still have a very high motivation to develop this further. There is no change," he continued.

"And services and software must be strengthened. In other words, the collaborative approach is very important, so is third-party. And from first party studios, the titles will be presented one after the other, so please look at them and give your evaluation based on them."

The same week that new tablets and smartphones are debuting at Mobile World Congress (including new devices from Sony Mobile), the company’s game division has released sales for its newest game platform. Sony Computer Entertainment has sold 620,000 PlayStation Vitas since it launched the portable entertainment device two weeks ago in the U.S., Europe and Australia. When tallied with the 578,812 hardware units sold in Japan since last year, Sony has seen over 1.2 million gamers upgrade to the new device.
